Protect against the risk of cross-contamination when using the instrument between patients.
Unlike most other thermometers, the Exergen Temporal Scanner does not come into contact with mucous membranes, and as such, the following options are available against the risk of cross-contamination when using the instrument between patients:
- Insert instrument into sheath, bottom end first. If instrument is on a cable, insert probe end first and twist sheath at neck with fingers to assure film is smooth over probe lens.
- Wrap additional film around probe neck. Film should be smooth over probe lens.
- Slide additional film under fingers while using.
